Chelsea Reach Carabao Cup Final with Thrashing of Middlesbrough

Chelsea's 6-1 Victory Secures Aggregate Triumph

Match Highlights and Second-Leg Report

Chelsea booked their spot in the Carabao Cup final with a stunning 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night. After losing the first leg 1-0, the Blues overturned the deficit with an emphatic performance to secure a 6-2 aggregate victory.

Chelsea dominated from the outset and took the lead in the 15th minute through an own goal by Middlesbrough's Matt Howson. Mason Mount doubled their advantage just five minutes later, and Malang Sarr added a third before halftime.

Middlesbrough pulled one back early in the second half through Duncan Watmore, but Chelsea piled on the pressure and scored three more goals to put the game beyond doubt. Isaiah Jones scored the fourth in the 60th minute, before Raheem Sterling and Hakim Ziyech completed the rout.

The result means Chelsea will face either Manchester City or Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on February 26. Middlesbrough, meanwhile, will be disappointed to exit the competition but can take pride in their performance over the two legs.
